Joan Joelene Long, aged 87, passed from this life on Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at her home. Joan was born on Friday, March 29, 1935 in Akron, Ohio to the late Joseph Albert and Helen Lederer Boytim. She was a member of St. Jude the Apostle, Catholic Church, an Air Force wife and worked in day-care and as a lunch lady. Joan was preceded in death by her parents; children, Thomas, Gary, Jerry, Russell , Pat and her husband, Charles Thomas Long.

Joan is survived by her children, Carol Long of Jacksonville, Linda (Scott) Ferrell of San Antonio, Texas, Diane (Buck) Laurent of Jacksonville, Doug Long of Jacksonville; 18 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and her fur baby "Reggie."

Funeral Mass will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 29, 2022 at St. Jude's Catholic Church, visitation, 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home. Burial will be in Mount Carmel cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Jacksonville Animal Shelter
