John William Jacobsen, 86, of Jacksonville, Arkansas passed away January 25, 2025. He was born in Little Rock, Arkansas on December 2, 1938 to the late Johnnie Marion and Mary Winona Jacobsen.

At the age of 10, John accepted Jesus as his savior while sitting on his grandmother's bed reading John 3:16. He officially made his profession of faith when he was in High School. John was a faithful member, Deacon, and Treasurer at Central Baptist Church for over 35 years. In 2000, he became a member of Bible Baptist Church, where he loved to sing in the choir. John served 6 years in the Navy and was in the Navy Band. In 1968, he moved his family to Jacksonville, where he worked for RCA until GE bought them out. He continued to work for GE until retirement, which he did to care for his wife when she became ill.

The list of hobbies John had was long. He loved to spend time with his family, go fishing, camping, and bowling. He sang in the Diamond State Quartet for several years.

In 2022, when his health declined, John moved in with his daughter, Kathy in Cabot, Arkansas, where he got to enjoy her cooking on a regular basis.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 36 years, Anita Jacobsen; and sister, Juanita Shipmen.

He is survived by his children, Kathy (Brent) Mogish, of Cabot, Arkansas, Tom (Addie) Jacobsen, of Copperas Cove, Texas, Donnie Jacobsen, of Little Rock, Arkansas, and Debbie (Robert) Tidwell, of Jacksonville, Arkansas; siblings, Marion Knight, of Little Rock, Arkansas and Robert Jacobsen, of Shannon Hills, Arkansas; 7 grandkids; 6 great-grandkids; several nieces and nephews; and John's fiancé of over 15 years, Martha Robertson.
