North Little Rock

Obituary

Jonathan "Jon" Seth Joshua, 37, of North Little Rock went to be with the Lord November 12, 2023. He was born September 17, 1986 in Little Rock, Arkansas to Patricia Ann (Allred) and the late Sheldon Joshua. In addition to his father, Jon was welcomed into Heaven with open arms by his sister, Sharlinda Faith Bennett; paternal grandfather, Joyce Joshua; maternal grandparents, June and Homer Allred; and uncle, Don Allred.

Jon will be missed for his selfless and gentle heart. A simple Christian man, Jon wasn't materialistic by any means. He would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need and always made sure to donate to charities, especially Prison Fellowship, whose goal is to build strong families units through the Lord Jesus. He had a strong faith in God's scriptures and denounced all ideas of evolution. In his spare time, Jon had many hobbies, including pencil sketching and skyline photography of "his city" and hometown that he loved so dearly, Little Rock, Arkansas. One of Jon's biggest passions was music – almost every evening after work he would dedicate time to write lyrics, compose instrumentals on his keyboard, and create music with his brother, Sheldon. Jon enjoyed cheering on the Arkansas Razorbacks, and inherited a love for Green Bay Packers from his father. He loved anything that went fast, especially muscle cars like Camaros, which he would tinker with in his free time. Living in the Natural State was a highlight for Jon because of all the beautiful natural scenery he could easily visit, go on a hike or enjoy the peacefulness of a lake. Above all else, Jon loved his family, friends, and the Lord deeply.

Those left to cherish the beautiful memories of Jon include his mother, Patricia Joshua; brothers, Sheldon (Cassandra) and Joseph (Korryna) Joshua; grandmother, Frances Bruce; brother-in-law, Nicholas Bennett; beloved nieces and nephews, Cali, Isaac, Keenan, Nick, Emily, Allison, Caroline, Mackenzie, Noah, Aiden, Keira, and Connor; uncles, David (Peggy) and Harold (Renata) Joshua; as well as several extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 15, 2023 at First Baptist Church Of Sherwood. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service, 1:00 p.m., at the church. Jon will be laid to rest following the service at Chapel Hill Memorial Park.
