Leon Leroy Simen, age 86, of Jacksonville, passed away Tuesday, August 17, 2021 in North Little Rock. He was born June 30, 1935 in Olney, Illinois to the late Ray and Opal Luthe Simen. Mr. Simen spent his military career with the United States Air Force as a flight engineer. Following retirement he worked as a handyman in the Jacksonville area. He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Simen in 2016; grandson, Brian Conrade and two brothers, Robert and Albert Simen.

He is survived by two daughters, Jackie Peery of Jacksonville and Barbara Almond of Rogers; three grandchildren, Michael (Deanna) Wright of Springdale, Stephen (Lacey) Wright of Lowell and Lesley (Phil) Herr of Bentonville; six great-grandchildren, Mack Wright, McLaren Wright, Carson Gentry, Charlotte Herr, Camdyn Herr and River Reeves; four siblings, Gladys, Mick, Marylin and Shirley.

Memorial service will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 20, 2021 at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home with full military honors. The family requests memorials be sent to Friends of Animals in care of Jacksonville Animal Shelter, 217 S. Redmond Road, Jacksonville, AR. 72076.
