Lillie "Sissy" Mae Venable Erwin was born June 18th, 1944, to Carrie and James Venable of North Little Rock, Arkansas. Lillie was the youngest of nine (9) siblings, which gave way for her beloved nickname "Sissy". Sissy is proceeded in death by her parents; siblings, Ephram Venable, Martha Donham, Alice Mobbs, James "Buck" Venable Jr., Mary Ann Vaughn, Willard "Sonny" Venable, and Wesley "Brother" Venable; as well as her husband of 42 years, Jerry Dale Erwin Senior.

Sissy is survived by her sister, Stevie "Pete" Joncas; her sons, Gary Wayne (Toni) of Cabot, Tony Lynn (Laceann) of Cabot, and Jerry Dale (Jennifer) of Vilonia; her grandchildren, Jessica and Justin Morgan of Cabot, Wade Erwin (Catie) of North Little Rock, and Jordan Erwin of Cabot; her great-grandson Levi James Morgan; life long friends, Jenny Sue Ridgeway and Bill Herrod; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Sissy worked for 15 years in Jacksonville at Franklin Electric. Her friends often enjoyed eating lunch with her at Granny's house, where there were always good food and good memories. Sissy said she had been fired from Franklin Electric three times, but when asked why, she would say it was because she wanted to go fishing! She loved to fish, with crappy being her favorite. She was always hired back because she was such a good worker. If you knew Sissy, you knew that she was a good worker. She was a hard worker who was never late and never procrastinated. Once she set her mind on something, it was going to happen.

She worked as a paint contractor with her husband for many years until his retirement. She was always involved in her sons' activities, such as football games and dirt track racing. She was their biggest fan! She could always be seen on the top bleacher and heard cheering them on over the crowd. She enjoyed NASCAR and was very vocal about who her favorite was or who she was rooting against. If you did not align with her drivers, she didn't forget it! Kyle Busch fans are now safe.

When the grandkids came along she was promoted to "Baby Spoiler" with Mawmaw as her title. She went to ball games, choir concerts, and school plays. She quickly became Mawmaw to other kiddos as well. Sissy enjoyed playing bingo where she made close friends. She would only call to tell you if she won! Sissy introduced fried cabbage to her daughter-in-laws and had a signature dish of "divinity candy". She loved fried frog legs and was known to make the best chicken and dumplings. Family dinners at her house were no later than 5:00 because she "went to bed with the chickens".

Sissy was always up to shenanigans with her nieces and enjoyed outings with them. She enjoyed being of service in her church, delivering meals and being a part of the Honey Bees, of whom she loved. She was always concerned about their well being and was eager to help out wherever she could.

Several months ago, Sissy stopped saying "goodbye" on the phone. When she was done with conversation, she would simply say "Love" before hanging up the phone. How important that simple act has become. She was loved for who she was and is already missed greatly. We will be waiting for the day we will see her again… Love.

Memorial services for Mrs. Erwin will be Saturday, November 1, 2025 at 11:00 a.m., at Bayou Meto Baptist Church in Jacksonville, Arkansas. Visitation will be one hour prior, at 10:00 a.m. A meal will be provided for the family after the services.
