Nov 16, 1920 — Aug 15, 2021
Jacksonville
Lois Hazel Jones, 100, passed away on August 15, 2021. She was born November 16, 1920 in Pottsville, Arkansas to the late Robert Ollen and Molly Pearl (Holliway) Staggs. In addition to her parents, Lois was welcomed into Heaven by her husband, Earmon Claude Jones; children, Billy Carl Jones, Jimmy Don Jones, and Norma Jean Jones Owens; and siblings, James Lorell Staggs, John Brown Staggs, Thelma Staggs, Orpalee Spurlock, Ruth Hattie Allison, Essie Pauline Myers, Grace Virginia Gribble, and Carrie Helen Coulter.
Lois, affectionately known by most as "Little Mama", will be missed for her gentle heart and sense of humor. She worked as a seamstress for Ains Brook Clothing Factory for several years, which must be where she got her fabulous sense of fashion. Lois spent a few years working at the Dairy Queen in Lake Village, Arkansas as well. She loved dancing, shopping, but more importantly, spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Those left to cherish Little Mama's memory include her daughter, Virginia (John) Jones Johnson; ten grandchildren, Julie (Marc) Johnson Breen, Monica (Jeremy) Jones Pieroni, Lance (Celena) Jones, Mark (Regan) Jones, Paul Owens, Tony (Vicky) Owens, Louie (Angela) Owens, Margo (Randy) Grisset, Marlo Owens, and Tanya Adkins; twenty-three great-grandchildren Morgan, Jacob, Nikki, Crystal, Carrie, Caitlyn, Justin, Jessie, Colby, Tyler, Christopher, Cameron, Casey, Jade, Laken, Alex, Amber, Kennedy, McKenzie, Adalie, Conner, and Karter; and sixteen great-great grandchildren.
A visitation will be 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, August 19, 2021 at the funeral home. Little Mama will be laid to rest at 2:30 p.m., Thursday, August 19, 2021 at Wilmot Cemetery in Wilmot, Arkansas. Arrangements by Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home, (501) 982-2136.
