Lola Mae Baker, 92, of Jacksonville passed away Friday, June 16, 2023. She was born December 5, 1930 in Easley, South Carolina to the late James Ralph and Clara Watson Lollis. Lola was a member of Second Baptist Church in Jacksonville. Her work experience took many forms from a custodian at church to a cook in a local restaurant. In her younger years, Lola enjoyed being an LPN. Whatever it was, she was always taking care of others and she took great joy in that. She was a wonderful woman, raising three children and two grandchildren. She enjoyed having her hands in the dirt tending her flowers and plants and had a nurturing soul. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Baker was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Baker; her daughter, Irma Jean Scroggins and siblings, Truman Lollis, Alvin Lollis, Irene Dowis, Ray Lollis, Joe Lollis, Eddie Lollis, Agnes Thrasher and Judy Moon.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Vernon (Sharon) Baker, Jr.  of North Carolina and Clara Mae Sandner of Cabot; grandchildren, Wendy (Ron) Spencer, Susie (Quintel) Brunson, Stephanie Ann Baker, Chris (Kenda) Allen Baker, Robert (Amber) Allen Sandner II, Rina Hobbs and DJ (Todd) Dwilt; twenty-one great grandchildren; eleven great-great grandchildren; siblings, Eva Jones, Sara Alexander, Lois Lark, Peggy Chapman, Dot Griffith, Annie Waddell, Paul Lollis and Herman Lollis as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home (501)982-2136. A graveside service will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at Chapel Hill Memorial Park in Jacksonville.
