Lula Dewese, 82, of North Little Rock passed away December 4, 2023. She was born February 9, 1941 in Hickman, Kentucky to the late James and Jettie (Taylor) Mayberry. In addition to her parents, Lula was welcomed into Heaven by her husband, William Dewese Jr.; and daughter, Clarissa "Boo" Dewese.

Lula will be lovingly remembered for leaving a legacy as a wonderful mother, grandmother, and wife. She enjoyed cooking a variety of meals and each child had a favorite of hers. She took her role as homemaker seriously- even with all the fancy vacuums in her home, Lula always preferred sweeping and other labors of love to keep her home clean and welcoming. She also enjoyed listening to music, especially the blues.

Those left to cherish the memories of Lula include her children, Steve (Lula) Gilcrist, Ardelia (Mark) Anscombe, Ardera Gilcrist, Gerald (Valerie) Dewese, Sharon (Don) Green, Gerald "Jerry" (Felicia) Davis, and Kathleen (Courntey) Petgrave; siblings, James Jr., Lemon, Debbie, Kathy, Emma, Wayne, and Sherri Mayberry; lifelong partner, Charles Hudgins; lifelong best friend, Myra Preyer; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and great-great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
