Luther Doyle Hawks, Jr., 83, of Lonoke passed away July 16, 2026. He was born October 18, 1942 in Lonoke County, Arkansas to the late Aggie Marie and Luther D. Hawks, Sr. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Marty Hawks; sister, Annie Marie; Grandson, Kylon Hawks; and aunt, Maggie Hawks.

Luther loved to laugh and was always a funny guy. If you spent any time with him, you would probably leave laughing. He was an avid Hogs fan. He never missed a chance to call those Hogs! When he wasn't calling the Hogs, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also loved to dance, especially with his partner, Linda. In his younger years, he was an all-star baseball pitcher. Unfortunately, an injury cut that dream short. He will be remembered for his sense of humor and loving demeanor. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Left to cherish Luther's memory are his loving and faithful companion of over 17 years, Linda Mathes; daughter, Amber Hawks; step children, Paulette Gorman and Michael Mathes; grandchildren, Bradley Hawks, Skylar Chauffuer, and Lexie; step grandson, Peyton Gorman; great grandchildren, Kayla, Braiden, Destiny, Trey, and Aaliyah; sister, Oza Stewart; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 21, 2026 at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour prior, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Luther will be laid to rest at Chapel Hill Memorial Park in Jacksonville.
