Maria Waltraud Thielking, of Jacksonville passed away on January 11, 2022. She was born May 8, 1932 in Schoenwald, Germany to the late Rudolf and Hildegard (Mader) Habel. In addition to her parents, Maria was preceded in death by her husband, Werner H. Thielking; son, Frank Thielking; and grandson, Christopher Smith.

Those left to cherish Maria's memory include her children, Petra (Tim) Smith, Peggy (Bill) Affleck, Tracey (Rob) White; daughter-in-law, Thao Thielking; fourteen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and many beloved relatives in Germany.

Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home. Visitation will be the same day, 11:00 a.m. with a rosary service starting at 12:30 p.m., at the funeral home. Maria will be laid to rest at Chapel Hill Memorial Park following the service. Honorary pallbearers will include Shane Ford, Timothy Smith, Nick Smith, Michael Smith, Wesley Smith, Andy Smith, Nate Smith, Brad Smith, and Tyler Smith.
