Obituary

Mary Christopher, 84, of Jacksonville passed away peacefully January 1, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of service, honesty, and deep love for family and friends. She was born April 22, 1941 to the late Maggie Parker and Booker Lowery, Sr. in Allen, Oklahoma. Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her siblings, Arnell Lowery, Booker Lowery Jr., Larnell Lowery, and Katherine Browning, and son, John Arradondo.

Left to cherish Mary's memory are her children, Monica (Charles Wayne) Allen, Darius (Erica) Christopher, and Mark Christopher; grandchildren, Mikayla Bryant-Davis, Michael Bryant, Mariah Christopher, and Alaneigh Christopher; one sister, Maxine Lowery, and a host of great grandchildren.

Mary was a faithful member of Evangelistic Ministries Church for over 27 years. Her faith guided her life and shaped the way she cared for others.

For more than 30 years, Mary worked as a nurse, dedicating her career to helping and healing those in need. Nursing was more than a profession to her; it was a calling.

Outside of her work, Mary found joy in the simple and meaningful moments of life. She loved caring for the horses at the little Rock Air Force Base, feeding the birds, tending to her plants, and spending peaceful hours sitting on her "perch." She was known for being honest and blunt, never sugar coating the truth but her words were rooted in love. Those who knew her best understood that her straightforward nature came from a place of deep care and sincerity.

Mary cherished her friendships, especially her beloved group of friends known as "the Wolf Pack." She adored her family and was a constant presence at all of her grandchildren's sporting events.

Mary will be remembered as a devoted woman of faith and honesty. Her legacy will live on in her children and grandchildren.
