Mary Elizabeth Creamer, 82, of Cabot passed away Friday, January 13, 2023. She was born January 5, 1941 in Detroit, Alabama to the late Paul Hollis and Willie Odell Ferguson Watkins. At the age of eight, her family moved to Zion, Illinois where she attended Zion-Benton High School and sang in the church choir. Later, when the Creamers moved their family to Arkansas, Mrs. Creamer worked as a bookkeeper for the Arkansas Education Association. In the 1980's, Mrs. Creamer owned and operated the Village Boutique and Kiddie Village in Jacksonville and became a member of Marshall Road Baptist Church. She also worked for Cybil Capps Reality and Chambers Drug Store. She enjoyed spending time with her family in Alabama and was a huge Crimson Tide fan. She loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren, music and singing and the occasional trip to Tunica. Mrs. Creamer was strong-willed, reserved and graceful and cared for others before herself. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Creamer was preceded in death by her brother, Travis Dee Watkins and step-son, Bobbie Joe Creamer.
Mrs. Creamer is survived by her husband, Joe Deon Creamer; children, Cynthia Ann (Steve) Carter, Bobby Joe (Sandy) Creamer, Tom (Brenda) Creamer, Tim (Bonnie) Creamer, Deonna (Eric) Creamer, Mary (Jack) Nease, and Kimberly Dawn (Mark) McPherson; grandchildren, Nicolas Steven (Deidre) Carter, Taylor Deon (Tiara) McPherson, SGT Hunter Lynn McPherson, BJ Creamer, Jennifer (Larry) Filson, Heather (Nick) Durbin, Brittany Chaudbry, Breanna Thorn, Ken (Stacy) Creamer, Tim Creamer, Brandi (Matt) Lockington, Eric Hodler, Tommy Nease, and Jacquelyn (Randy) Correa; 28 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Wilma Sue (James) Wiginton and Avis Lee Twitty.
Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. with funeral services beginning at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 19, 2023 in the chapel of Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home with Brother Cliff Hutchins officiating. Entombment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Park.
