Mary Nell Elliott, 90, of Jacksonville passed away on September 19, 2021. She was born July 6, 1931 in Mercedes, Texas to the late Philip Gillen-Moody and Estefana Lerma. In addition to her parents, Mary Nell was preceded in death by her husband, Royce Elliott; sister, Irma Moody-Martinez; sister-in-law, Joy Elliott; as well as her mother and father-in-law, James and Merle Elliott.

Mary Nell had a successful career in banking and medical office management. She was a people person that enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Mary Nell married the love of her life, Royce, on December 5, 1955. She will be missed by all that were lucky enough to have known her.

Those left to cherish Mary Nell's memory include her sons, James (Sandy) Elliott and Anthony Elliott; grandchildren, Stephanie (David) Fraze and Philip (Elly) Elliott; great-grandchildren, Elliott Grace Fraze, Evelyn Kay Fraze, and Witten James Elliott; niece, Mary Nell Martinez-Bullock; and nephews, Joe, Jerry and David Martinez.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:30 a.m., Thursday, September 23, 2021 at St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church in Jacksonville. A visitation will be the evening prior, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 22, 2021 with a rosary service from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home.
