Mary Frances Hopkins Evans, 96, of Jacksonville, Arkansas passed away peacefully December 23, 2025. She was born June 5, 1929 to the late Otho and Zola Norman Hopkins in Romance, Arkansas. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Evans.

Mary Frances was a devoted woman of faith whose life centered around her family, her church, and her home. She found great joy in serving others, especially through her gift of cooking. For many years, she faithfully prepared meals for church gatherings and those in need, serving as an active member of the church's benevolence group.

She had a special place in her heart for children, and she shared her faith by teaching children's Sunday school.

Mary treasured time with her family and was especially devoted to caring for her grandsons while they were growing up. She took pride in being present in their lives. Family meant everything to her. She found comfort in listening to southern gospel music.

Left to cherish Mary's memory are her daughters, Teresa (Charlie) Gervasini and Susan (Randy) Moore; grandsons, Chase (Miranda) Gervasini and Eric (Lauren) Moore; her dear friend, Helen Goforth; and many nieces and nephews.

Special thanks to Pastor Derek and Baring Cross Baptist Church for their prayer and support, the Honeybees from Bayou Meto Baptist Church for their many visits and delicious food, and Angie Howanietz for professional hair care and styling.

A funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 27, 2025 at Baring Cross Baptist Church in Sherwood. Visitation will be one hour prior, beginning at 1:00 p.m. There will be a private burial at a later date at Rest Hills Memorial Park.
