MSgt. Ret. Bobby Joe "Sam" Houston, 89, of Jacksonville passed from this life on July 14, 2025. He was born July 21, 1935 in Heber Springs, Arkansas to the late Jimmy Wilburt and Blanch Donna (Collins) Houston. Mr. Houston was a veteran of the United States Air Force, with more than twenty years of honorable and distinguished service to his country. Mr. Houston loved his Lord, his county and his family. He was a military man through and through. He will always be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, brother and friend to many. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his great grandson, Jimmy Lyons III; and brother, David Houston.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Patricia (Gary) Heinrich of Cabot, Debra (Paul) Gagnon of North Carolina, Brenda (Kenneth) Ogenski of Jacksonville and Wayne (Sheila) Houston of Sherwood. Other survivors include nine grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren; siblings, Jimmy Houston of Heber Springs and Bill Houston of Roland; along with a host of extended family and friends.

Graveside services will be 10:00am, Monday, July 21, 2025 at Chapel Hill Memorial Park, 1504 N. JP Wright Loop Road, Jacksonville, Arkansas 72076.

Memorial contributions in Mr. Houston's memory may be made to a Veterans charity of your choosing.
