Denver Norman Umfleet, age 94, of Jacksonville, Arkansas passed away April 30, 2026. He was born in Esther, Missouri on August 21, 1931 to the late Howard and Mayme Umfleet.

He proudly served in the United States Air Force, retiring at the distinguished rank of Master Sergeant. Following his military service, he was a Master Baker at Koehler's Bakery, where he faithfully worked for 36 years until their closing. Denver also served as a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Shriners. He deeply loved his church family at Bethel Baptist Church and held a special bond with his river house family in Wright, Arkansas. He enjoyed fishing and found simple happiness in his favorite treats, Pepsi and chocolates. He loved watching his favorite sports teams, cheering them on and making his own commentary. Known for his sense of humor, he continued telling jokes right up until his passing, bringing joy to those around him.Above all, he loved his family endlessly and took great pride in caring for them. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife and the mother of his children, Ruth Umfleet; two children, Dee Ann Umfleet and Norman Umfleet; and siblings, Opal McWilliams, Hazel Kennon, Juanita Ranson, Claude Umfleet, and Z.K. Kennon.He is survived by his wife, Laura Umfleet; children, Dennis (Jan) Umfleet, Deborah (Noel) McDaniel, Stephanie (David) Wagner, Angela Umfleet and Chaunce (Taylor) Umfleet; along with an abundant number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.The family would like to give a special thanks to Denver's nurses in the CCU department at Baptist Springhill, Tara and Madesyn.

There will be a funeral service at 1:00p.m. on Wednesday, May 6, 2026 at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home, 1504 N JP Wright Loop Road, Jacksonville, Arkansas. There will be a graveside service, with full military honors to follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Park. Visitation will be prior to the service beginning at 12:00p.m. at the funeral home.
