Norma Katherine Scoggin Stauffer, 83, passed away on November 8, 2023.  She was born in Bradford, Arkansas on April 12, 1940 to the late Marie and Lloyd Scoggin.  She passed from this world peacefully, at home, in hospice care.  Norma is an eternal source of love and grace. She was a creature, bright and beautiful and a blessing to all, especially to her three husbands, younger brother, Larry, younger sister Barbara and her beloved mother and father. In addition to her parents, Norma was preceded in death by brother Larry Scoggin; two loving husbands, Gary Childers and Dr. Rodney (Pete) Patterson; along with two brothers-in-law Gary Hibbs and Joseph Schilling.

As a child Norma lived in California and grew up a "free thinker."  Her spiritual growth developed through the wonder of sky and awe of nature and animals.  She had a very fulfilling 25+-year career working until her retirement as president of the Southern Company of North Little Rock, now named Southern Pipe and Supply.

She was an avid Naturalist loving nature, animals, birds, and taking care of the environment. While traveling, Norma always had her binoculars ready and logged over 2500 species of birds from across five regions and continents including North America, Central America, South America, Africa, Australia and Europe. She loved teaching anyone who would listen about reusing then recycling to help our planet.  Norma also loved gardening and sharing her bounty with friends and neighbors.  She always put her family first to make their life better. Norma loved the Fairfield Bay lake house where she shared precious memories with her sister, family and friends.

Norma was a devoted wife, sister and aunt.  She is survived by her husband, John Stauffer; and stepchildren Dave (Diane) Patterson, Steven (Susanna) Patterson, Karen Patterson (Gary), Kenny (Katherine) Stauffer, and Matt (Amy) Stauffer; sister, Barbara Schilling; nephews, Brian Hibbs (Patty), Jeffrey Hibbs; as well as several great nieces, great nephews and step-grandchildren.  She loved her dogs, and Champ survives her in the home.
