Ofreda Edmondson, 97, of Jacksonville, passed from this life Friday, October 4, 2024. She was born October 27, 1926 in Hot Springs, County, Arkansas to the late Grundy Joe Tarkington and Lola Jennie Davis Tarkington. Ofreda was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Clarence Johnny, Orail Virgil, Farris Earl, Sibble Woneta, B.J. and Charles J.B.  Tarkington.

Ofreda is survived by a sister, Betty Garrett; her nephew, Tom Tarkington; great-nephew, Tim (Karen) Tarkington; great-nieces, Martha Tarkington and Louise Tarkington; great great-niece, Victoria (Eric) Pfauser; and many other extended family and "children" that she helped raise , including Stephen Williams and Danielle Williams.

Funeral services for Ofreda will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 7, 2024 at Jacksonville Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Commital service will be 2:30 p.m. at Quachita Cemetery in Donaldson. Memorials may be made to "Love a Child" or to "Life".
