Obituary

Ora Lee Brown, 90, of Jacksonville passed away May 17, 2026. She was born August 31, 1935 in Fargo, Georgia to the late Daniel and Ella Ware Goodman. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Donald Eugene Brown.

Ora was a faithful and dedicated member of the Little Rock Air Force Base Chapel for over fifty years. She loved serving the Lord and serving others. Ora started the church sewing ministry and faithfully led it for over twenty years. She was also instrumental in helping create the church prayer garden. Because of the love and hard work she poured into it, the garden was dedicated in her honor.

Ora never met a stranger. She had a way of making people feel welcome and loved. Her faith guided her life every single day.

Ora loved going to Goodwill and thrift stores. She was always hunting for a bargain or a little treasure. Most of all, she loved her family. Her children and grandchildren were everything to her. She treasured every moment spent with them.

Left to cherish Ora's memory are two children, Ronald Eugene Brown and Bonnie Hobson; grandchildren, Aaron Hobson, Kali Hobson, and Brittany Hobson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 20, 2026 at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour prior, beginning at 1:00 p.m. She will be laid to rest with her husband at Chapel Hill Memorial Park following the service.
