FUNERAL SERVICE POSTPONED TO MONDAY, JANUARY 13, 2025.

Pamela Lynne Hargis, 67, of Jacksonville, Arkansas passed away January 5, 2025. She was born in Paragould, Arkansas on September 8, 1957 to the late Billie Mack and Reba Lora Boozer.

Pam was an avid reader and loved to solve crossword and anacrostic puzzles. She loved to work with her hands, making cross-stitch pictures, doing repairs with needle and thread, making crochet items, or coloring pictures.

During college, she worked summers as an assistant Park Ranger for the Army Corps of Engineers. She worked as a social worker for Big Bothers and Big Sisters until her first child was born, when she became a stay-at-home mom. Later, she worked and volunteered for the local schools where she was a jack of all trades - from the media center to the office. Her favorite place to be though, was helping as a reading interventionist, a substitute teacher or a one-on-one paraprofessional for a child in need. She played the piano and clarinet and was an assistant children's choir director for her church. She also worked as a Girls in Action leader and for many years as the Nursery Coordinator.

She is survived by her loving husband, Reuben "Wayne" Hargis; children, Lora Elizabeth (Michael) Linder and Adam Hargis; grandsons, Ian and Barrett Linder; brother, Timothy Boozer; and nephew, Samuel Boozer.

A funeral service will be at 2:00PM on Monday, January 13, 2025 at First Baptist Church, 401 N 1st St, Jacksonville, Arkansas, with burial to follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Park. There will be visitation prior to the service beginning at 1:00PM at the church.
