Jacksonville
Patsy Ann Hamilton Baynes Reynolds, 72, of Jacksonville passed away Sunday, May 17, 2020. She was born August 31, 1947 in the community of Concord, Missouri to Francis Hamilton. She was lovingly adopted by Ruben Chester (RC) and Rose Alma Baynes of Hayti, Missouri in April 1948. They took this child into their home and most of all into their hearts. She was forever grateful to them for doing this great kindness and showing the world this type of love for a child that was not theirs by birth. She couldn't have asked more from a mother and father. She graduated from Hayti High School in May 1965. Also, on May 30, 1965 she married Don Farish Reynolds who was in the United States Air Force and stationed at Blytheville Air Force Base. During Don's Air Force career, they traveled to several different bases including Hahn, Germany. They were married for nearly 55 years. And they said it wouldn't last! Pat had no siblings but she did have some very special cousins that took the place of sisters; Glenna Rae Ferree Johnson Tedford and Anna Beth Ferree Burkhardt. She also had three very special friends; Betty Shoup (Ray), Laverne Robertson (Charlie) and Gerry Goffart (Hank).
Pat was preceded in death by her father in January 1957 and her mother in June 1988. She was also preceded in death by her aunts, Mable Alberta Yarbro Ferree, Ethel Beatrice Yarbro Major Hylton and uncle, Virgil Edward Yarbro as well as two very special friends, Mary Kay Porter and Henry (Hank) Goffart.
She is survived by her bestest ever husband, Don; her perfect son, Don Farish Reynolds, Jr. (Glenda Olscawa); grandson, Cody Spencer Reynolds and granddaughter, Morgan Kaitlyn Reynolds Smith (Michael); seven very precious great grandchildren, Cloe Reynolds, Kylie Nicole Reynolds, Kaitlyn McKenna Smith, Anna Kaye Smith, Lona Olscawa, Ari Olscawa and Julian Mason. She is also survived by several in-laws and other cousins. Pat loved her family with all her hear. If she called you a friend then you stayed her friend for life. She was a Life Member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars where she served as Auxiliary President for five consecutive years, then as Treasurer for two years along with serving as Auxiliary Hospital Chairman for which she received a national award in 2013. She also served in various other capacities at the Auxiliary, District and State levels. For several years she coordinated visits to local Veteran's homes in Cabot and Vilonia as well as the Arkansas State Veterans Home in North Little Rock.
Pat spent over 20 years with the Federal Government working at Little Rock Air Force Base with Office of Special Investigations (OSI) and in Personnel. She then worked for the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS) and then the Corps of Engineers (CoE) and retired from the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). She had great memories of each place she worked and truly enjoyed the people she worked with. When she left the C of E, she was awarded the Civilian Achievement Medal. After retirement, she enjoyed time with four of her great granddaughters, Kaitlyn, Anna, Lona and Ari.
