Obituary

Richard Marion Carter, known affectionately as "Skeeter" or "Uncle Skeeter", age 51, of Lonoke, Arkansas passed away September 29, 2025.

Richard was born on March 26, 1974, in Union City, Tennessee, to Orvel and Connie Carter. He graduated from Cabot High School in 1992 and went on to earn a degree in Construction Engineering Technology. Throughout his career, he worked as a Construction Supervisor for several companies in both Arkansas and South Carolina.

Richard was a devoted Christian and a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Cabot, Arkansas. He attended services regularly and deeply appreciated Pastor Calvin King, as well as the entire church congregation.

Richard proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from 1993 to 1996. He was trained as a Field Radio Operator and was assigned to the 1st Marine Division at Camp Pendleton, California. During his service, he completed an overseas deployment to Jordan with the 2nd Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) and once back in California supported numerous domestic operations in alignment with mission objectives. He is preceded in death by his mother, Connie Elaine Carter; as well as his grandparents.

He is survived by seven children, Colby, Haley, Ethan, Matthew, BryAna, Meghan, and McKenzy; four grandchildren; father and step-mother, Orvel and DeAnna Carter; sister, Connie Marie Carter; brother, David Carter; step-sister, Tami Caswell; and step-brother, Toby Tucker.

There will be a memorial service at 10:00a.m. on Thursday, October 9, 2025 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, 6470 AR Highway 89, Cabot, Arkansas.
