Richard Lloyd Hinkle Sr., 85, of Jacksonville, passed away September 23, 2020. He was born June 9, 1935 to the late Riley and Mary (Simmons) Hinkle in Linglestown, Pennsylvania. In addition to his parents, Richard is preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.

Richard proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and is a Vietnam Veteran.  He was medically retired in 1973 as a Tech Sergeant.  He deeply loved his wife of 65 years, Edith, and spending time with children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.  His two passions in life were the game of golf and his service in the Masonry.  His Masonic service began in 1964 and he achieved his Thirty-Third Degree in 2007 serving in many capacities along the way to include District Deputy Grand Master and Almoner.

Those left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Edith Hinkle; his son, Richard (Lisa) Hinkle Jr; his daughters, Marilyn Collins and Jimie (Chet) Gray; sisters, Faye Hoover and Ruth Fromm; three grandchildren, Lloyd Collins, Troy Gray, and Anna Hinkle, as well as five great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, September 29, 2020 at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home, with a visitation preceding the service from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Following the service, Richard will be laid to rest at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock.
