Rickey R. Vanpelt, age 69, of Jacksonville, Arkansas passed away at home on June 10, 2026. He was born on April 26, 1957 in Parkin, Arkansas to the late EW and Nancy Keck Vanpelt.

Rickey enjoyed deer and duck hunting, fishing, mud racing, collecting arrowheads and watching professional boxing and UFC. These were most enjoyed with his grandsons.

He is preceded in death by his parents, mother-in-law, Helen Pitts; and grandson, Preston Murray.

He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Judy Vanpelt; children, Lisa (Alan) Johnston of Cabot, and Angelia Savage of Jacksonville; father-in-law, John Pitts of Cabot; siblings, Christine Sheppherd of Parkin, Gary (Betty) Vanpelt of Wynne, and Douglas (Rita) Vanpelt of Harrisburg; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; lifelong friend (more like a brother), Johnny Hill of West Memphis; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to give special thanks to Gentiva Hospice nurses; Lakyn, Krista and Brook and Chaplain Joe.

There will be a graveside service at 2:00p.m. on Sunday, June 14, 2026 at Bayou Meto Cemetery, Jacksonville, Arkansas. Visitation will be prior to the service from 1:00-2:00p.m. at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home, 1504 N JP Wright Loop Road, Jacksonville, Arkansas.
