Robert "Bobby" Lee Kinnison, 80, of Jacksonville, passed away Wednesday, December 14, 2022. Bobby was born on Wednesday, December 17, 1941 in Olla, Louisiana to the late Henry W. and Kathryn Martin Kinnison. He retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1979 and spent the next 25 years working for Falcon Jet. Bobby was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

Bobby is survived by his wife of 59 years, Betty Dixon Kinnison; children, Michael (Melinda) Kinnison of North Little Rock, Patrick (Judy) Kinnison of Cabot; siblings, Henry Kinnison, Jr. (Carolyn) of Farmerville, Louisiana, Donald Kinnison (Faye) of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Edward Kinnison (Linda) of Cordova, Tennessee, Susan Henderson (Gary) of Jonesville, Louisiana; 4 grandchildren, Christopher (Samantha) Kinnison, Kathryn (Jonathan) Williams, Sarah Kinnison, Andrew Kinnison; 2 great-grandchildren, Henry Kinnison and Peter Kinnison.

Born in Olla, Louisiana, Bobby graduated from Lasalle High School in 1959. He joined the Air Force shortly afterwards and served honorably for over 20 years. In 1963, he met his lifelong wife (Betty) on a bus traveling to Little Rock and the two were married shortly thereafter. He was a decorated Vietnam Veteran and worked with the Titan II missile squadron and the 314 ^th MAC Supply squadron during his time in the service. He retired from the Air Force in 1979 and began working as a supervisor for Falcon Jet in Little Rock. He retired from Falcon Jet after 25 years in 2004.

Bobby's greatest joy was his family. He loved spending time with them and participating in activities with them. He loved watching and participating in all sports and he especially enjoyed bowling, golf, football (especially LSU), baseball, and softball games. He attended family gatherings whenever possible which included years of playing cards, board games, and long family conversations and good times together. He enjoyed spending time with his sons and their families. He kept up with and attended the activities of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren as well as giving encouragement and support. He brought humor and an overwhelming amount of love into everything he did, making an impact on people whether he knew them his whole life or just a short while. His example of love, humor, and dedication to family will live on in all who knew him.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Monday, December 19, 2022 at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at the funeral home followed by burial with military honors in Chapel Hill Memorial Park.
