On Tuesday, May 10, 2022, Roger Tolleson [USN Ret.] entered into eternal peace. Born December 19, 1952 to John and Patsy Tolleson of Petrolia, Texas. Roger enlisted into the U.S. Army at the age of 18 and served with the 2 nd 68 th Armor Division at Baumholder, Germany. After completion of his tour with the U.S. Army, he enlisted into the U.S. Navy and completed 20 years of military service. His tours of duty included the USS Prairie (AD-15), Naval Training Center, San Diego, USS Cochrane (DDG-21), USS New Jersey (BB-62) and Navy Recruiting Command, Little Rock, Arkansas. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 71 in Cabot. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Roger is survived by his wife, Deboraha Tolleson; step-daughter Shannon Glidewell; step-son David Beard; granddaughters, Tracy Beard, Serenity Beard, Anna Beard, Chloe Veuleman, Caroline Veuleman, Kennedy Veuleman and grandson Ridge Glidewell. He is also survived by a brother, John Tolleson and a sister, Janet Reynolds, both of Houston, Texas and a very special fur baby, George.
Funeral services for Roger will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home. Interment will follow at 12 noon in Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, May 17 at the funeral home. Roger would like everyone to remember, "Freedom is never free!"
