Ronald Franklin Dornblaser, 72, of Jacksonville, slipped away from all those who loved him on the afternoon of May 14, 2023, from injuries he suffered in a fall on May 7th. Ron was born in Little Rock on July 12, 1950, to the late Owen Franklin and Dorothy McDonald Dornblaser. In addition to his parents, also awaiting to greet him in his heavenly home are his sisters, Patricia Shumate and Cynthia Wood; and his niece, Julie Dornblaser Hejny.

Ron grew up in North Little Rock and graduated from North Little Rock High School with the class of 1968. After graduation, he joined the United States Navy and proudly served his country from August 1969 to October 1974. After his honorable discharge from the Navy, he attended UCA and was a member of Phi Lambda Chi fraternity, earning a Bachelor of Science in Geography. During these years he could often be found helping at Owen's White Cottage Café in downtown Little Rock, which was owned and operated by his dad. He went to work for the City of Little Rock Public Works in September 1985 and retired in 2014. He moved to Jacksonville in 1992 and remained there until his death.

Ron was a gentle soul with a quirky sense of humor, as was obvious in his naming his cats Bob and Nancy after his brother and sister-in-law. He loved to take home leftovers from family dinners, usually showing up with his Tupperware in hand, and couldn't wait to take home Marcia's Christmas fudge which was made several times each year just for him. He was a kind and loving person with a huge heart, and those who knew him best benefited from his compassion and love.

Left behind to cherish his memory are his brothers Bob (Nancy) Dornblaser of Conway, and Jim (Marcia) Dornblaser of Jacksonville; nephews and nieces, Michael (Jen) Dornblaser of Benton, Jared (Kayla) Dornblaser of Alma, Cindy (John) Blohm of Jacksonville, Rachel (Collin) Anderson of Blanchard, Oklahoma, LeElla Herring and Wendy (James) Peeks, both of Little Rock, and Davy and Scott Wood; three great nephews; six great nieces; special friends, Kevin and Jessica Pruett a host of other family and friends; and lest we forget, his beloved cats, Bob and Nancy.

A military service with honors will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 14, 2023, at the Arkansas State Veteran's Cemetery in North Little Rock. A Celebration of Ron's life will follow the service at Foxwood Country Club in Jacksonville. In lieu of flowers, we know Ron would be most honored by a donation to his great niece Hazel's charity, HOPE FOR HAZEL, Inc. which benefits the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation of Arkansas.
