Obituary

On October 30, 2022, Sharon Rose McAvoy, loving wife and mother of three, passed away at age seventy-four.  She was born on October 4, 1948, to Charles and Amanda Morgan.  Sharon was a connoisseur of old movies, collector of angelic figurines, a rose gardener, a happy camper, and was the definition of the most loyal and amazing friend. She lived life to the fullest, rarely acting her age or admitting she was older than 29. As the fifth of eight children, Sharon learned how to think of others first, love everyone equally, and never expect more than she deserved.  She was like the angel figurines she collected.  She was beautiful, steadfast, and a guide to those who needed a way.  Sharon will be missed, loved, and regarded as a guide to a life worth living by those blessed enough to have known her.

When Sharon wasn't teaching Sunday school, volunteering in the nursery, or helping a friend in need; she was loving her family – and to Sharon, everyone was family. She loved watching TV. Her favorites were M.A.S.H., Mama's Family, The Golden Girls, and anything with John Wayne. Sharon was always ready for a joyous exchange of funny frivolous frivolity. She's known for her goofy faces toward loved ones and rib jostling jokes. We've also heard a story or two about ambulance chases and late-night shopping cart basket rides at the grocery store.

In addition to her parents, Sharon is preceded in death by her son Kenneth Morrison.  She is survived by her husband of thirty-eight years, Michael McAvoy; daughter, Mandi Wilson; son, Mark Morrison; grandchildren, Lexi Morrison, Brady Bostic, Grant Morrison, Jett Morrison, and Campbell Morrison.
