Obituary

On Monday, July 15, 2024, heaven gained another angel. Sherry Ianthia Griffin of Jacksonville, Arkansas earned her wings and went home to be with her Lord and her beloved Lonnie, Sr. She was born on January 11,1948 to J.C.(Jake) and Martha Petray.  Sherry was a 1966 graduate of Jacksonville High School. That same year she married Lonnie Griffin Sr.

Wife, Mom, Momma Griffin, or Momma G, Sherry played a huge role and wore many hats in Jacksonville. Whether she was at Vee & Gee Athletics printing/monogramming uniforms, going to ball games to support "The Red Devils," where she would ring her cowbell as loud as she could, or feeding all the friends and family that the boys brought home, she was the mom to all, even to those that did not have one.

Sherry is preceded in death by her parents J.C.(Jake) Petray and Martha Petray, her husband of 34 years Lonnie Nathan Griffin, Sr, and her great grandson Stanton Layne Butler. She is survived by her brother Michael Petray (Diana) and sister Sally Petray-Green (David), 3 boys; Lonnie N, Griffin, Jr. (Kelli), Bo Griffin (Rebecca), and Wayne Griffin (Jennifer). 5 Grandchildren: Ally Eubanks (Chase), Nathan Griffin (Brooklyn), Lauren Butler (Justin), Matthew Griffin, and Elijah Griffin.  6 Great Grandchildren: Grier Holland, Grace Holland, Graylen Butler, Griffin Eubanks, Grady Jo'el Eubanks, and Slayton Butler.

Memorial services will be 2:00p.m., Thursday, July 18, 2024 at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home, 1504 Loop Road, Jacksonville, Arkansas.
