Shigeko Ligon, 92, of Jacksonville passed away January 5, 2023. She was born June 18, 1930 in Okinawa, Japan to the late Kichichiro and Tsuru Kinjo. In addition to her parents, Shigeko was welcomed into Heaven by her husband, William Ligon.

Shigeko is survived by her son, Masaharu "Tom" (Lucia) Tamashiro; stepchildren, Renee Ligon, Michael Ligon, and Cathy Williamson; and grandchildren, Kenji Tamashiro, Masako Tamashiro, Patrick Tamashiro, and Naomi Della.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service, 1:00 p.m., at the funeral home. Shigeko will be laid to rest following the service, at Chapel Hill Memorial Park.
