Jimmie Harold White, age 87, of Jacksonville, Arkansas passed away March 23, 2026. He was born to the late Jessie Levi White and Mae Bell Maroon in Mineral Springs, Arkansas on September 4, 1938.

Jimmie's formative years were spent in and around McCaskill, Arkansas. Jimmie's mischievous side was evident from an early age. When his mother gave him money for singing lessons, he figured the money was better spent on Lucky Strikes. He went on to drive a log truck at the ripe old age of 14, without a license (allegedly). Another escapade of his was his brief career in bootlegging whiskey from Texarkana to Hempstead County (allegedly). He graduated from Blevins High school where he was a member of the 1956 state championship basketball team. Upon graduation, his Air Force career began, which took him across the world to Scotland where he met Mattie, his beloved wife of 64 years. While there, he was among the first Americans to complete the Scottish 6 Day Motorcycle Trials. In 1965 he was deployed to Vietnam, where he took part in multiple clandestine humanitarian missions into Cambodia and Laos.

After serving 21 years, he retired from the USAF and began his second career with the Pulaski County Sherriff's Department. During his service, he won a gold medal in racquetball at the National Police Olympics. He was promoted to the rank of Captain after 20 years of service.

Throughout the years, he enjoyed cycling, participating in many races, and riding with his brother Sammie. Jimmie was a jack of many trades; If it was broken, he would fix it. He would repair everyone's motorcycles, cars, boats, mowers, you name it, he would "Jimmie rig" it. In his final years he rode a recumbent bike around his neighborhood and was well known for his determination. He enjoyed walking his beloved dogs even when he began to use a scooter. He never gave up or gave in, a fighter to the end. In the words of Dylan Thomas, "Do not go gentle into that good night. Rage, rage against the dying of the light."

Along with his parents, he is being reunited with his wife of 64 years, Martha Faulds Elliot White; son, Jimmie II, and grandson, Beau.

He is survived by daughters, Sheryl (Frank) Spieldenner and Karen Wood; and his cherished grandchildren, Matthew Davis, Amanda Wood, and Scott (Hellen) Bollen.

There will be a visitation at 9:00 a.m. followed by funeral service at 10:00a.m. on Saturday, March 28, 2026 at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home, 1504 N JP Wright Loop Road, Jacksonville, Arkansas. A graveside service with full military honors will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Park.
