Stanford Arvel
Brown
Dec 23, 1948 — Nov 9, 2020
Jacksonville
Stanford Arvel Brown, 71, of Jacksonville, passed away November 9, 2020. He was born December 23, 1948 in Little Rock to parents Arvine and Helen (Smith) Brown. Stanford was a strong-willed, opinionated man with a heart of gold. There were three things he loved more than anything in this world: his family, his country and the Arkansas Razorbacks. Stanford was a proud military veteran that served two tours of duty during the Vietnam War as a crew chief. He retired from the United States Air Force after 20 years of service and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross twice during his military career. He then worked at Remington Arms for another 20 years. In his spare time, Stanford enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, reading westerns and spending quality time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Even though he seemed like a "rough around the edges" type of guy, Stanford was a truly selfless man that would give the shirt off his back if you needed it without a second thought. He will be dearly missed by all that were lucky enough to have known him. In addition to his parents, Stanford is preceded in death by his sister, Shirley Browning.
Those left to cherish Stanford's memory include his wife of 49 years, Pamela Jane Brown; children, Angelina (Johnny) Finley, Joseph A. Brown and Mary (Nathan Jones) Brown; grandchildren, Johnny Ryan Finley, Cody Finley, Dakota Clark, Hayden Jones and Parker Jones; brothers, Stanley (Wanda) Brown and Sidney (Kathie) Brown; brother-in-law, Thomas "Buck" Browning, Sr. as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
