Stephen Arnold Williams, 84, of Jacksonville passed away Sunday, October 26, 2025. He was born July 22, 1941 to the late Kenneth and Leona Williams. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Nellie Kathrine Williams and three children, Joey Miller, Steve Miller, and Debbie Williams Reese.

Born with a stubborn streak and a heart of gold, Stephen lived his life on his own terms, moving at his own pace (especially at the dinner table).

A proud and hardworking man, Stephen was known for his generosity, humor, and endless love for his family. He was the type of person who would give the shirt off his back.

Stephen loved his favorite restaurants, Texas Roadhouse and IHOP, where he took his time enjoying every bite – as long as it wasn't chicken or anything with feathers. He also loved a good rum and coke.

Though his driving skills were questionable at best, his heart was always in the right place. Those who knew him best will remember his jokes, his stubborn determination, and the way he made ordinary moments unforgettable.

He leaves behind a family that loves him deeply and will miss his humor. Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Lisa (Chuck) Buchan; grandchildren, Joseph (Samantha) Lucky, Kaitlin (Zackary) Walker, Joshua Buchan, Matthew Buchan, Lauren (Connor) Malone, and Zachary Buchan; one great-grandson and light of his life, Eli James Walker, and one sister, Donna (Ronnie) Skaggs.

In honor of Stephen, raise a glass of rum and coke, tell a joke, and take your time with your meal, just like he did.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 30, 2025 in the chapel at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home. Visitation will be the night before from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Interment will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Park following the funeral.
