Staff Sergeant Ted William Arnett, 88, died peacefully in his Lonoke home on October 23, 2020.

SSgt. Arnett was born in Caldwell, Kansas on February 18, 1932 to the late Marion and Gladyes Arnett.  In 1952 he joined the United States Air Force where he served for 20 years in the Security Police and was a veteran of the Vietnam War.

​Ted liked to stay busy so after his retirement from the Air Force, he went on to work another 20+ years and retired from the Remington Arms plant in Lonoke. He later worked in security for a video manufacturing plant in North Little Rock.

​While stationed in Florida, Ted met and married the love of his life, Nancy Carol Oyster.  During Ted's service, he and Nancy were stationed in many places including New Mexico, Spokane and Anchorage, to mention a few.  After his retirement, they settled in Arkansas to be near family and build their forever home. Together they enjoyed their love of gardening, horses and dogs on their beautiful home site.  They also enjoyed ballroom dancing, travel, tours and sightseeing.

Ted is survived by his wife, Nancy; two brothers-in-law, Tommie Crane and David Oyster; sister-in-law, Gail Oyster; his adopted family, Darlene Warner, Elizabeth Warner, Hagen Warner, Patrick Brantley, Matthew Brantley, as well as many nieces and nephews.

​Ted is preceded in death by his infant daughter, Renee Elizabeth; five brothers and two sisters.

A graveside service will take place at 10:00 a.m. on October 29th, 2020, at Concord Cemetery near Furlow.
