Thomas Michael "Mike" Brooks, 71, of Jacksonville passed away on Monday April 29, 2024 at home surrounded by his family. He was born December 28, 1952 in Huntsville, Alabama to the late Thomas Elbert and Sophie Frances (Miller) Brooks. Mike was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a business owner for many years. Mr. Brooks had an amazing green thumb when it came to his gardens and flower beds. Mike also had a passion for building guns, but above all else, his family was his number one priority. He will always be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, brother and friend.

Survivors include his children, Rusty Brooks (Adriana) of San Antiono, Texas, Callie Brooks (Kaitlyn Dodd) of New Braunfels, Texas, Kaycee Dowdy (Bill) of Jacksonville, Kaylee McClain of North Little Rock, Keyra Stewart (Courtney) of Jacksonville, James Brooks of Jacksonville; grandchildren, Rusty Jr., Jamie, Clayton, Katalena, Hayden, Chase, Sophie Grace, Timothy, Malaki, Maddox, Kaloni and Kade. Other survivors include siblings, Keith Brooks (Maria), Chuck Brooks, Barbara Reynolds and Phillip Spear along with a host of extended family and friends.

Memorial services will be 3:00 p.m., Saturday, May 4, 2024 at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home with Pastor Larry Burton officiating.
