TSgt Ret. Dorsie Lee Woods, 89, of Jacksonville passed from this life on March 23, 2025. He was born October 15, 1935 in Hurricane, West Virginia to the late George and Lula May (Bench) Woods. Mr. Woods proudly and honorably served his country in the United States Air Force for more than twenty years, achieving the rank of Technical Seargent. After his retirement Mr. Woods went to work as a truck driver for many years before finally retiring for a second time. In his later years he enjoyed spending time at home watching old westerns, especially Gunsmoke and mowing his grass. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving and devoted wife, Iris Ann (Mauldin) Woods in 2002; siblings, James Woods and Vena Barrett.

Those left to carry on his memory are his sons, Michael Woods of Jacksonville, Patrick Woods of Florida; brother, Roy Woods of Texas; along with several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be 12:00 p.m., Friday, March 28, 2025 at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home. Interment with military honors will follow at Mt. Olive Cemetery in Bauxite at 2:15p.m. Visitation will be Thursday, March 27, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
