Vida Joan Smith, 85, of Jacksonville passed from this life on Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock. She was born Thursday, September 22, 1938 in Des Arc, Arkansas to the late Henry Hite and Reva (Wright) Hite. Ms. Smith was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She will always be remembered for her selfless care of those around her, whether she knew them or not. She was employed at Maybelline Cosmetics for many years.

Left to cherish her memory are her sons, James David Smith (Patricia) of Romance, Lemuel Lane Smith (Melody) of Little Rock; grandchildren, Amanda Garner (Chad) of Romance, Adam Smith of Little Rock, Tony Smith (Samantha Brown) of Little Rock; and great granddaughter, Elizabeth Garner. Other survivors include siblings Norma Moore of Jacksonville, Anna Crump of Benton, Peggy Diles of Mt. Ida, Hazel Dillehay of Hot Springs Village and Reba Tyler (Ron) of Harlingen, Texas; along with a host of extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, April 15, 2024 at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home with interment to follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Park. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service beginning at 1:00p.m.
