Virginia (Brant) Ruth Petersen passed away peacefully the morning of Saturday, December 11, 2021, with the love of her family surrounding her. Virginia was born in Dundy County, Nebraska in 1930 to John and Amy. In addition to her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard; all her siblings; her son, Dennis; and two grandchildren, Jessie Petersen and Corey Brothers.

Virginia and Leonard welcomed two daughters Colleen, in 1953, and Joy, in 1954 followed by a son, Dennis, in 1958. She worked at the Regal Ware, a manufacturing plant in Jacksonville for many years. Virginia was a devoted wife and mother as well as an active member of the Baptist Church.  Virginia was a woman of many passions including, sewing, knitting, planting, and later on in life, her grandchildren.

She will be missed by her children, Joy and Colleen; grandchildren, Angela (Kenneth), Mike, Summer; great-grandchildren, Christina (Zach), and Christopher; great-great-grandchildren, Hayden, and Maddie; as well as numerous extended family members and friends.
