Obituary

William Arnold Carr, aged 85, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2025. Born on February 15, 1940, in Warren, Arkansas.

William enlisted in the Air Force at the young age of 17, serving proudly for eight years where he specialized in training Sentry Dogs. After his military service, he transitioned to a career as a millwright, working for several local companies in Arkansas before eventually retiring. While his career path shifted from handling dogs to working with machinery, his passion for dogs remained a constant throughout his life.

In addition to his love for animals, William had a natural talent for gardening. With a green thumb, he cultivated a seasonal garden each year, eagerly sharing the fruits of his labor with family, friends, neighbors, and others in his community.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by son Eric; grandson, Jeremy; brother, Kenneth; and sister, Robbie.

William is survived by his wife of 68 years, Shirley Carr; children, Cherryl, Cheri, Renee, William Jr. (Diana);  grandchildren, Wayne, Martin (Kristi), Jason, Marcus (Julie), Matthew, Anthony (Christina), William III "Trey", Jacob (LeAnne); great-grandchildren, Tyler, Tiffany, Hillary, Olivia, Jaycee, Cameron, Baylor, Ever, Marlie, Julia, Averi, Allie, Luke, Alessandra, William IV "Liam", Elijah, Judah; great-great-grandchildren Maverick, Hollis; brothers, James (Carmen), Charles "Boots" (Patsy); and many other loving family, friends and neighbors.
