Obituary

Chief MSGT William (Bill) Johnson (Ret.), age 81, of Jacksonville, ended his journey here on earth Sunday, January 24, 2021. He was born and raised in Hector, Minnesota. Chief Johnson and his wife of 62 years, Doras, married in 1958 and were blessed with four children. Bill served in the United States Air Force for 30 years in the missile field.  He was the 308 th Senior Enlisted Advisor until deactivation of the 308 th at LRAFB and his retirement.  He was a member of the MARCS Plane Club and owned a business that specialized in creating plane kits called Hangar Designs, which was known world-wide.  Chief's love for his family and God was also known. May he rest in peace. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Elizabeth Johnson, brother Lloyd Johnson and sister, Eleanor Johnson Morton.

Survivors include his wife, Doras Johnson, children Jeff (Missy) Johnson, Laurie (Brian) Stevens, Janelle (Mike) Modiano, and Sherri (Jim) Stacks; grandchildren, Alex, Josh, Sara, Devin, Logan, and Emily; and brother, Jim (Verna) Johnson.

Private memorial services will be at Hope Lutheran Church, with a military internment in July. Arrangements by Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home (501-982-2136).
