Wilson "Sam" Symansic, 74, of Jacksonville, passed away February 15, 2021. He was born July 13, 1946 to William and Yvonne Symansic in Detroit, Michigan. In addition to his parents, Sam was preceded in death by his daughter, Jennifer Michelle Symansic.
Sam was a Vietnam veteran and retired Air Force Technical Sergeant with over 21 years of service to our country. He was a family man, hard worker and was always on the go, whether it be running errands or riding the open road on his Spyder Can-am. He was one of the founders of the Central Arkansas US Spyder Ryders Club and earned the nickname "samewok".
Those left to cherish Sam's memory include his wife, Cathyjo Symansic; children, James Symansic and Janette Shupe and granddaughter, Kirsten Shupe.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 6, 2021 at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Park. Arrangements by Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home, (501) 982-2136.
